Keeping spare copies of important files is always a smart course of action, especially if you let a specialized application copy the files for you. Thus, you can avoid unpleasant situations, like forgetting to back up your data or backing up the wrong files. With FileFort Backup, you can create various backup tasks and schedule them to run automatically, according to your own timetable. Furthermore, the software can store your backups directly on an external device or in cloud folders.

FileFort Backup can be used on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8 and it is available for Mac OS X platforms as well. It takes only a few seconds to install its components on your computer. You only need to agree to the terms and conditions and click a Finish button and the software will launch immediately.

Created backup tasks are listed on a compact user interface. You can select individual items and click a series of buttons, located on the software's toolbar, to run or delete them, create new ones, change their parameters and perform other actions. Creating a new backup task is a step-by-step process, which is carried out on a separate window. During this operation, you must specify what data to back up, where and how and set up a schedule, if you want your tasks to run automatically on a regular basis.

Besides browsing for files and folders, you can also target common locations, like your emails folder, documents, downloads or other locations in the Libraries folder. The software can be set to store the backups in local or network folders, on external hard drives or USB sticks or in cloud folders, like Dropbox, Google Drive or Amazon. Storing the data on a FTP server is another possibility.

FileFort Backup provides support for full, historical or incremental backup tasks. It displays short descriptions for each backup type, which can be quite useful if you are not sure what kind of backup task to create. The application can be set to store the backed up data as a ZIP or a self-extracting EXE file, to mirror the files in sub-folders and to encrypt the data. If you need to back up the same files periodically, you can define a schedule, to run your tasks automatically, on a daily or weekly basis, on certain days, at specific hours.
